A COLLECTION SPLIT BETWEEN HERITAGE AND NATURE

In this Collection, the St. Lawrence River reveals its unique worldwide recognized natural heritage rich legendary landscapes. And we could not ignore this urban forest that is the Mount Royal Park. A public park that defines Montreal downtown with this year’s 140th year anniversary.

With its immense territory covered with 130,000 streams, 4,500 rivers and its 1 million lakes, Quebec Province has close to 2% of the entire planet’s fresh water. It is this heritage the Collection intends to show - sometimes with landscapes of breathtaking beauty.

Like an artery crossing the entire territory, the S. Lawrence River, with its gulf, estuary and river, makes us dream and appreciate the infinite variety of these exceptional landscapes. Bic, with its mountainous ridges, is a reminder of the legend that would be at its origin: a mountain’s creating God would have mandated and angel with this task. This one, at the end of a long journey, would have reversed its coat to shake vigorously the dirt from it…

Located where the St. Lawrence River and Saguenay Fjord meet, Cap Trinité is the perfect place to discover rocky cliffs appreciated by hikers while Tadoussac Bay feeds relentlessly a rich marine fauna.

But in the end, with its heritage dating 140 years and all the available adventures designed for everyone to enjoy, we have to acknowledge what now defines Montreal: Mount Royal Park, the design of a visionary and the original North American landscape architect.

Happy anniversary Frederick Law Olmsted…

Saguenay Fjord National Park, Cape Trinity

Description
▶︎ What more can we say about the majestic Saguenay Fjord - a U-shaped valley with its abrupt and impressive cliffs created by the passage of glaciers giving its typical trough shape - a marine and ecological Quebec jewel. With its 100 km, this Fjord is the world longest at a low latitude. Il is composed of a multitude of bays which constantly follow the tides.

Saguenay Fjord

Description
▶︎ Sailing on the Saguenay Fjord is one of Grandeur. The enclosed feeling given by the cliffs gives you the impression that time has been stopped. The Fjord creation started more than 4 billion years ago, with the Canadian Shield being scarified by the passage of successive glaciers, resulting in the powerful Saguenay River connecting Lake St. John to the St. Lawrence River.

Description
▶︎ What a magnificent panorama from the Tadoussac Bay toward the majestic Saguenay Fjord. Starting point where an exceptionally diversified marine fauna comes to feed attracted by abundant planktons and an opportune mix of soft and salty waters.

Brakenfell before Spring

Description
▶︎ Before spring springs in Mount Royal Park, the landscape is monochromatic, peaceful and full of promise. This is the area Olmsted called the Brakenfell. Ascending the slope on worn stone steps through a forest that has been there forever distances us from the bustling city behind.

Garden gnome meets St. Joseph Oratory

Description
▶︎ From Montreal’s Côte-des-neiges library roof top garden, a garden gnome holds a flower up to the St. Joseph Oratory that sits atop the Westmount summit of Mount Royal mountain. I adore those moments in landscape where Kitch and sacred align.
